On Thursday, January 16, 2020, the Party for the Victory of the People – Espacio 567 – issued a statement declaring that the sector is on its way to the departmental and local elections next May “The triumph in Montevideo wants to contribute to this.”
In this sense, the sector expresses its intention to work for a better city of Montevideo, since it has developed the political force in the administrations since 1990, the first capital government led by Tabaré Vázquez until now. The city has grown exponentially with its inhabitants ”, however, she is aware of“ how much remains to be done ”.
PVP-Espacio 567 said: “Due to the management of the Broad Front of the department, Montevideo today has become better and, most importantly, faced with the challenges brought by these vertiginous changes, the city is in a stable position.“
She noted that the city “needs to be closer to the people.” The statement said: “We need a closer, more integrated city of Montevideo, so that citizens can enjoy a fuller democratization of their living space.”
She also pointed out the need to “work on the integration of territories and services”, so that a person in Montevideo can fully enjoy the same rights regardless of where they live, work and develop their life.
